YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A MEMEBER OF
THE BASEMENT DOOR TEAM

The Basement Door is a community-based charity that supports young people aged 12-22 in learning new skills, building confidence, and making connections through their passion for music.
Here are some of the things we do:


● We give a platform to young bands to help them build confidence, get support and hone their craft.
● We provide a safe space for young people to see live music and socialise.
● We train volunteers in all aspects of running live music events including events management, sound
and light engineering, hospitality and basic catering skills.
● We provide AQA certificates.


Participation in The Basement Door’s programmes is dependent on following its rules and procedures. The following activities are not allowed. Any participant who violates this Code may face appropriate consequences, which could include removal from the programme, depending on the severity of the issue.


● Abusive language towards a staff member, volunteer or another participant.
● Possession, use or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs at any Basement Door
event.
● Bringing dangerous or unauthorised materials such as explosives, firearms, weapons or other
similar items.
● Discourtesy or rudeness to a fellow participant, staff
● Harassing anyone verbally, physically, or online. This includes actions like making threats, inappropriate
gestures, or sending harmful messages.
● Actual or threatened violence toward any individual or group.
● Acting in a way that could endanger someone’s life, health, or well-being
● Failure to follow any agency policy or procedure.
● Bullying or taking unfair advantage of any participant.
● Failing to cooperate with an adult supervisor/leader/mentor.
We ask all members to actively support the charity’s events and programs. This means:
● Providing support at public events using the training and experience provided by the organisation
● For musicians and bands, it is expected that they will remain for the whole event unless they have
informed a volunteer or staff member in advance.
● Please do not leave right after your set without permission.

 

By becoming a member you agree to follow these rules and contribute to creating a safe, positive environment for everyone. Failure to follow these rules could result in consequences, including removal from the programme.

By accepting membership, gigs, training, etc you are deemed to have accepted this code of conduct.
